Friends and Photo Shoots

Photo shoots with friends can sometimes be difficult knowing that they have to perform in front of you, and you have to be the director. Its nerve wrecking at first, but when we all start having fun with it, that's when the best pictures come out. A good friend helps you. I think for a photographer, your friend always better be willing to take a picture when the moment calls for it.


Today I went on a shoot with two of my really good friends. They wanted to help me with my 365, and that makes it even better! Risking getting into 50 degree sea water just for a picture, or even figuring out they are afraid of heights and they still climb that tree, or their arm doesn't really go that way, but they'll figure it out; that is a true friend! I worked a lot today on lighting and shadows. I couldn't pick just one for my 365 for today. So I picked a few. Enjoy!

I'm Obsessed

My 365 project has become my new beloved obsession. It pushes me to do what I love (not that I really have to be pushed).

Lately all I've been really able to do is take pictures of myself everyday because I get off of work so late. Last night I experimented with long exposure and movement. I captured myself "two-faced". The color blue really captured all of the shades of light, and the movement around me.

So, finally today I was able to capture something other than myself. I went with my friend Brittany to get her hair cut short again. She was super excited to help be apart of my 365, as was I. Kayla is the girl cutting her hair, she finally put her license up on the wall! She is an official hair dresser now.

A New Happy

I have realized this year, after having no furniture for 6 months, to never take furniture for granted again! My roommates and I can finally eat meals and watch tv in a comfortable home!

Now, all we need is some decorations!

The color blue seems to be the trend of this Spring 2009. Many designers have been sending their models down the runway strutting evening and casual wear of the color blue. Blue has many shades, and all seem to be appearing this year on the runway.

Tributes

We all have a way of remembering the ones that we have lost. Some remember those through funny stories and the little things they use to do. Some remember those they have lost by living their lives, making sure not to make the same mistakes they did. Others decorate, and hold on to gifts, while others may get tattoos; a lifelong remembrance of the one they loved, and lost.

The flower above if from a dear friend of mine. She gave it to me yesterday; it was from her father's service the day before. She has been hit with many obstacles this year, and remains strong.

This tattoo is in remembrance of my friend's grandfather. "VJM".

These have become some of my favorite pictures I have taken due to the emotional inspiration these people gave me.

Healthy Eating Made Easy

I was in the grocery store and passed by this Raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette, which I just had to pick up because it looked interesting. I was hit with inspiration to make a fruit salad with a different approach.

Romaine Lettuce
About 5 Strawberries cut in half
One whole banana, sliced
About 3 tbsp of the Vinaigrette

I'm sure it would be really good with oranges and raisins! This salad can cure even the sweetest of teeth! Try it out and let me know how it worked for you!

Genetics

Ever since I became a teenager, everyone would tell me how much I take after my Grandmother's looks. I never really believed them until I started to develop more into my late teen years. My grandmother recently sent me her senior picture of when she was 18 years old.


My friends and I could not believe HOW much we actually looked alike. Practically twins. Can't wait to see her again.
